So I Went Shopping........

Hey Guys
I hope you guys are holding up well! Here in Townsville we are expecting a cyclone to hit in the early hours of tomorrow morning. Only a category 1 cyclone though so no need to panic!

Anyways over the last 2 weeks I may or may not have gone a little bit crazy when I've gone shopping.

So uhh yeah just a little crazy but I figured it would be an awesome blog post :)

Clean & Clear Morning Burst Shine Control Facial Cleanser

So I just recently finished up my bottle of the original morning burst cleanser. I really loved the original mainly because it did help me to wake up in the morning, so thats why I wanted to buy another bottle of it. When I got to Big W I saw this sitting on the shelf and I just had to try it! I have very oily skin so any product that claims to control shine I am willing to give a shot.

I used this cleanser this morning after my personal training session and it really worked well to wash away all the sweat and oil and give my skin a matte finish

Chi Chi Rich Gems Gift Set

I am the type of person who searches for deals! If I can get multiple items for the price of one item I will get it. When I went into Target I was mainly looking for some Essence items when I found myself looking at Chi Chi items. I have never really given Chi Chi makeup a go before so I was swatching some of their single eyeshadows and lipsticks when I noticed this gift set was on sale for half price! (I think their still trying to get rid of it from christmas) The gift set included a full size of the Rich Gems palette, a blush and 4 lip glosses. All of that for $12? I would have been mental not to get it!

I've been wanting to play around with colourful makeup looks for a while now so this palette is perfect for someone like me as it has a good mix of bright colours and neutrals.

This blush is so pretty! I did not notice it in pans but it has little specs of glitter that really make the blush shiny when applied to the cheeks! It's my new favourite blush!

These lip glosses are so pretty and sparkly! I especially love the red one! These lip glosses are quite sheer but still have plenty of colour pay off! They look like a stain with some clear gloss over top, I really love it. The nude colour is also good for if you want to tone down a really bright lip colour!

Maybelline The Falsies

I really really really love my Benefit's They're Real Mascara! The only problem for me is that it makes my lashes way to long! I end up with little specs of mascara all over my eyelids from it. So I was looking for a mascara that was not going to add length to my lashes but rather volume and curl. I decided to pick this up as MissGlamorazzi on YouTube raves about this product and I really wanted to see if it lives up to it's reputation.

Essence Stays No Matter What Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner

I suck at liquid eyeliner! I'm not ashamed to say it, seems like most people are! I was using Maybelline's Master Precise Liquid Liner Pen as it just made the process so much easier! But like the name suggests, it is very precise and only makes tiny lines. I wanted to start trying to do normal liquid liner so I could get a thicker line. I decided to give this liner a go as it is only a short brush which I felt would make the application process that little bit more easy.

Essence Lash & Brow Clear Gel Mascara

I've really been getting into eye brows lately! My problem with eyebrows is whatever product i use on them tends to rub off within a few hours! It's so frustrating! I saw MissGlamorazzi on Youtube using a clear mascara to set her brows. I wanted to give this idea a go so I bought the cheapest clean mascara I could which was this one!

NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil - Peacock

So I already own NYX Jumbo Eye Pencils in Sparkle Nude and Milk and I am in love with both of them! Like I said early I really want to start co-ordinating colour into my makeup looks and I really felt like this was such a pretty colour for just a slight pop of colour on the lower lash line!

Australis Conceal Correct 4-in-1

I've been wanting to try some Australis products for a while now after hearing rave reviews about them. When I was looking at the display in Big W I noticed this nifty little concealer palette. It contains a green concealer, purple concealer and skin coloured concealers. I struggle with redness on my face so I've been looking for an affordable green concealer to cancel out that redness. I am also interested to see if the purple concealer will correct my under eye circles.

What I thought was nifty though was that on the back of the palette it has information on how to use each concealer which I feel is a great touch!

Australis Go Camo Full Coverage Concealer

I really need a full coverage concealer for my under eye circles! I have very fair skin so even a little bit of tiredness shows under my eyes. I was going to try MAC Prolongwear concealer but I thought I would give this a go as it is a lot cheaper then MAC!

Australis Lipstick in Teen Pop

I originally was not going to buy a lipstick from Australis but when I was "Just Looking" at the colours this one just popped out at me and I had to have it! I think it's just that perfect bright pink colour, defiantly awesome for the summer/spring time! I don't really like the smell of the lipstick, it smells very chemically but I will see how it goes!

NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Instanbul

I have not really reached out into the whole "matte lips" look. I like my skin matte and my lips shiny! However I do want to expand my makeup looks so I decided to start experimenting. Like I did when I first started playing with makeup I decided to start with a natural colour. I think this colour is a beautiful dusty pink colour and I really cannot wait to try it!

------

Well that is it! told you I went a little crazy! Let me know if you guys would like to see a review on any of these products!!

Bio Sculpture Gel Review

Hey Guys
So I really enjoy getting my nails done. I always feel so pampered while sitting in the chair getting them done and always feel glamourous walking out with my nails looking all pretty. In 2012 I went through a time of only getting acrylic nails. I just loved the look of them. I had acrylics on for about 6 months when I finally decided I could not afford the upkeep of acrylic nails. Needless to say when I got the acrylics taken off my nails where damaged. They looked horrible and would not grow like they use to. About another 6 months after getting the acrylics taken off I decided to research into some ways of still having beautiful nails while still working on getting them healthy. This was when I discovered Bio Sculpture.

Image from www.biosculpture.com.au

I've been wearing Bio Sculpture Gel on my nails since August 2013 and I have seen a definite improvement in my nails. My nails no longer break as easy and are not looking as gross as they once did. What I love about Bio Sculpture nails is that your nails do not need to be sanded down like acrylics do. The gel goes over your nail like a nail polish and dries under a UV light. I love the smell of Bio Sculpture, it as a very sweet candy like scent. I always leave the salon sniffing my hands because it smells so good. Bio Sculpture provides a wide variety of colours so there is a colour for everyone. Bio Sculpture is an all natural product so it does start to breakdown after about 4 weeks.

I definitely recommend giving Bio Sculpture a try :)

So I want to know what do you guys use on your nails? Regular nail polish, acrylics or gel?

2013 Favourites.

Well well well...... here we are........ 2014! A year filled with promises, potential and possibilities (as my pastor says) I am super stoked for 2014 as it is the final year of my bachelor degree. A lot of work ahead but I cannot wait.

So since it is a new year, I thought what better time to reflect on the year gone by and really highlight some of the amazing products I've gotten to try throughout 2013. Now I know what you're saying "you can't do a 2013 favourites as we are already a week into the new year" but better late then never don't you think?. Just so you know I am not sponsored by any of these companies, all opinions expressed in this post are 100% my own. So without further ado let''s get into it.

MAYBELLINE Instant Age Rewind Under Eye Concealer

Ok so I know this product has been raved about this year by the YouTube beauty guru community and confession that is kind of why I bought it. During 2013 I was very busy with my university studies, working part time and ministry so needless to say I never got much sleep. This product was amazing for  covering the bags that appeared under my eyes almost on an everyday basis. It really brightens up the under eyes and makes you look more awake. Almost like you've never suffered sleep deprivation in your life.

MAC Pro Longwear SPF 10 Liquid Foundation in NC15

So I may or may not of only purchased the full size of this on boxing day but I did get a sample in October so I am counting it. I have quite pale skin with a lot of pink undertones so it's difficult to find a foundation that matches my skin tone without making it look as if I've splattered a strawberry milkshake on my face and called it foundation. This foundation matches my skin tone exactly while still correcting all the pink undertones. I've seen a lot of girls complain that MAC foundations make their skin look oily or breaks them out. I personally have had no issues with this foundation what so ever. It goes on nicely, blends nicely and leaves my skin looking even without looking cakey. The only downside is for me is that it costs a lot more then what I would like to pay for a foundation, but it is so worth every penny.

BENEFIT POREfessional Pore Minimising Balm

This stuff is seriously the best primer I have ever tried! I am literally in love with it. It's a flesh coloured balm that goes transparent when you rub it into you skin. As the name suggests it's designed to minimise the appearance of pores. Now I have very oily skin so naturally I have quite massive pores. This product literally makes it seem as if my pores have disappeared. I've also noticed that this product seems to control the oil on my face which is a massive bonus.  I use it on a daily basis and I think I will probably never use another primer it is that amazing.

BENEFIT Browzings Brow Shaping Kit in Light

Ok confession time. When I first started out with makeup I absolutely hated and I mean HATED filling in my eyebrows. To me when I filled in my eyebrows I looked like an angry librarian. As I have progressed in my makeup journey one of the biggest things I've learnt is that brows are what frame the face. So once I finally got them to the shape I wanted I decided it was time to invest tin an brow shaping kit. When the girl at Benefit put this on my brows I was blown away. For once I did not look like an angry librarian when I filled in my brows, I looked good. The product comes with a wax and a powder as well as a hard angled brush for the wax, blending brush for the powder and a pair of tweezers. The wax is used to give your brows shape while the powder is used to give them colour. Literally if you where like I was first of all go to your local beauty salon and get your brows waxed into a shape that you like, second of all invest in this product. I honestly cannot put into words how amazing it is, you have to go and try it for yourself. It is literally aBROWZING (get it?)

LIME CRIME Eyeshadow Helper

The one thing I hate about eyeshadow is how quickly it can come off, smudge etc. This primer holds eyeshadows so well, I can go to work and do a 10 hour shift come home and my eyeshadow is still on my eye lid, just as it was when I first put it on. Can we just talk about the packaging for just a second because it is majorly cute! Although it is majorly cute the only down side to the product is that it comes in a squeeze tube. I have had so much product waste because to much product came out when I squeezed the tube. I think either a pump or a doe foot applicator would be a lot better then the squeeze tube.

NYX Hot Pink Lipstick

This lipstick was my first ever NYX purchase. I bought it and a matching lipgloss off eBay for like $6. Sadly I lost the lipgloss but that is ok because this lipstick is literally amazing! It's definably hot pink but I reckon it has a lot of purple undertones. This was the lipstick I was wearing on an everyday basis for months. Every time I wore it I got a compliment on it. So needless to say I love the colour. For a drugstore lipstick the staying power is amazing! If you gave me the lipstick in an unbranded bottle I would guess that it would be a MAC lipstick.

MAYBELLINE Master Precise Liquid Liner

If your anything like almost any girl on this planet, you probably suck when it comes to liquid liner. Don't worry I suck to! I love the look of liquid liner but when it comes to applying it....... well I'm quite horrible. That was until I bought this! The liner has a felt tip so it makes using liquid eyeliner so much easier! When I use this it literally takes me a 30 seconds to do my eyeliner. Such a time saver! What I love most about this product though is the ability to control how thick you want the line! The thicker you want the line the more pressure you apply. Simple really. Pictured below is the felt tip and some swatches of the liner with varying pressures applied.

BENEFIT They're Real Mascara

I am one of those lucky people who are born with extravagantly long eyelashes. My problem is that my lashes are so light they can barely be seen. What I love so much about this mascara is that not only does make my already freakishly long eyelashes about 10x longer, it gives them curl and intensity. I love the look of this mascara it really makes my eyes stand out. I love this mascara so much I recommend it to everyone and everyone I recommend it to who tries it absolutely loves it.
For those who are wondering, yes this is only a sample. I've gone through about 3 samples of this mascara. I do plan to buy the full size one day it's just every time I go to Benefit they always seem to give me a free sample.

BENEFIT Groovy Kind-a Love Set

This gift set was my first ever purchase from Benefit and my goodness is it AMAZING! It comes with a trial size of the POREfessional, They're Real Mascara, Benetint cheek and lip stain, Dandelion & Gimme Fever cheek powder duo and 4 eye shadows in the colours Tickle My Ivory, Gilt-y Pleasure, Shimmer Down and Kiss Me, I'm Tipsy.

What I love most about this set is the eye shadows. They are so pigmented and they stay on really well. What I love about them though is because the colours are so neutral it gives a lot more possibilities to play with them. I've used all of these shadows with NYX jumbo eye pencil in Sparkle Nude as a base, Gilt-y Pleasure in the inner half, Kiss Me I'm Tipsy on the outer V and Shimmer Down in the crease. Then adding NYX roll-on shimmer in nude over Gilt-y Pleasure to really make the gold pop! That's just one of the ways I have found but there are so many other ways to play with these eyeshadows.

I love the set as a whole and it is really a great set for someone who is just starting to get into makeup.

FORMULA 10.0.6 ABSOLUTE DREAM CLEAN CREAMY FOAMING CLEANSER

(say that 10x fast)

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this cleanser! I do not understand why this has not become a bandwagon yet but oh my goodness I cannot say enough good things about this cleanser! I could not find anything on this cleanser anywhere! Not even on the companies website! So I guess I'll give you the rundown. It's made with cucumber and grape to freshen and smooth your skin while fighting breakouts. The cleanser comes out as like a cream but once it hits water it becomes more like a foam. You can really feel the censer getting in and cleaning out all the nasties that live in your skin. This cleanser has really helped to clear up my skin. I love to use it just before I go to bed along with Lush's Grease Lightning Spot Treatment.

MACADAMIA NATURAL OIL Deep Repair Masque

I could not do a 2013 favourites without putting this product in. Now I know I'm a little late on the bandwagon but I'm on it now and I'm hooked.  I have highlighted hair and I use heat on my hair almost everyday, so you would expect my hair to be dead right? WRONG! This product has saved my hair lit it is absolutely amazing. I use it twice a week after I shampoo my hair and i leave it in for about 10-15 minutes. When I wash it out my hair is just so soft it feels as if I have never done anything to it. This is the second time I have bought this product and although the bandwagon has kind of moved on, I still really love this product!.

-[REVIEW]- LUSH Limited Edition Santa's Lip Scrub

I recently went on a trip to Brisbane for a concert. Now of cause whenever I visit a capital city I got to do some shopping. I've bought from LUSH online before but I had never step foot into a LUSH store until my little weekend getaway. It was an experience! All the delicious smells for me was like heaven on earth (although if you get headaches from strong smells I suggest keeping a mile radius away from any LUSH store) As I was about to check out I noticed these cute little pots of lip scrubs sitting beside the registers, When I saw "Limited Edition" printed on the pot I could not help myself.

What It Is Described As
"Prepare Your Lips For Santa Baby"
- Printed on the pot

"This cola flavoured Lip Scrub will polish your lips to perfection"
- Printed on the pot

"The caster sugar in this scrub will gently exfoliate away any dry skin from your lips, whilst the extra virgin coconut oil moisturises, leaving them soft and conditioned.  This lip scrub has the fragrance of fizzy cola sweets for delicious tasting kisses, with a hint of festive red.  Scrub lips before applying colour for a flawless pout."
- Lush Website

What I Think

When I first smelt this product I knew it smelt familiar but I couldn't figure out what the fragrance was. After reading the the packaging I defiantly agreed it did smell like cola. When applying to the lips the caster sugar defiantly has enough roughness to exfoliate the lips without being to abrasive. The taste is delicious, It tastes exactly like cola. I really do think I could eat the entire pot it tastes that good. The scrub left my lips feeling very smooth. I will normally apply the Nivea Vanilla and Macadamia Lip Balm straight after to nourish the lips.
The down side to this product is that it is hard to get out of the pot. As the product sticks to itself getting the right amount of product out proves a challenge. This also causes the product to be quite messy to work with as any excess scrub tends to fall creating a mess on your counter top. I highly suggest standing over a sink when trying to use this product.
Try this product for yourself!
